Nominators are a cornerstone of Climate Scale-Up’s selection process and a critical driver of the program’s credibility, quality, and global reach. We work closely with a trusted network of over 400 venture capital firms, family offices, and climate-focused investors to identify the most promising growth-stage climate tech companies around the world. Rather than issuing an open call, we invite these investors to nominate the companies within their portfolios that have proven traction and are ready to scale internationally.

This nomination process serves as a powerful first filter. Because nominees are already backed by venture capital, they arrive with a level of technical validation, market discipline, and investor oversight that dramatically enhances the quality of our pipeline. From there, Climate Scale-Up conducts its own rigorous selection process, evaluating nominated companies based on commercial traction, technology readiness, climate impact potential, leadership strength, and alignment with our program goals.
